Troy Brady has 27 years of experience in process safety, operations, maintenance, documentation development, training, and project management. His industrial experience includes chemical processing; refining; pulp and paper; general manufacturing; and fossil, hydro, and nuclear power generation.

Mr. Brady is an Industrial Psychologist in IPI’s Houston Office. Mr. Brady assists clients with a broad range of tasks including procedures compliance assessment, job and task analyses; design, development, and training program implementation and evaluation. Other services provided include developing technical documents including operating and maintenance procedures, operating limits tables, and training materials and evaluating the effectiveness of training and procedures.

During the last 18 years, Mr. Brady has developed and implemented management and documentation systems to support compliance with various Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, including the process safety management regulation (29 CFR 1910.119), and with the International Standards Organization quality series. He has conducted more than 50 job and task analyses and training needs analyses. He has served as an instructor for more than 50 workshops, teaching job and task analysis, effective procedure development, training material development, classroom presentation skills, and conducting effective on-the-job training.

Mr. Brady received his Undergraduate Degree in Business Management from the University of Tennessee. In 1990, Mr. Brady obtained his Master’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from the same school.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

ABS Consulting – As a senior training and procedure consultant, performs assessments of clients’ training, policy, and procedure programs. Particular attention is given to the effectiveness of various programs during these assessments. Provides consulting services to assist clients in identifying training needs, and implementing training, policy, and procedure programs using the Instructional System Design (ISD) methodology. Mr. Brady also has extensive experience in process safety, operations, maintenance, documentation development, emergency response and planning, training, consulting on health and safety programs, project management, employee interviewing and selection, employee development, and performance appraisals.

TPC Performance Solutions – Vice President, General Manager responsible for management of 60-person training and consulting company, including sales, marketing, staffing and project management for a variety of industrial clients. During this time, coordinated an office relocation, including leasing, furniture procurement, and network and telephone installation.

Williams Learning Network – Various positions, including project manager, western sales manager and manager, consulting group. Conducted over 100 client needs analyses (including one of the largest pipeline companies in the U.S.) for the evaluation of training and procedure requirements for OSHA, DOT, MSHA, and ISO regulatory compliance.

NUS Training Corporation – As a senior training consultant for the Training Services Group, was responsible for providing development and implementation services for NUSTC chemical and petrochemical, refinery, pulp and paper, and power generation clients. Conducted job-and-task analyses, developed training curriculum designs, procedures, and OJT checklists. Performed classroom and laboratory training in the areas of operations and maintenance. Also conducted advanced instructional skills workshops for client training personnel. Assignments included:

Georgia-Pacific Corporation, Palatka, FL – Performed project management for operating procedure and training material development for the Chemical Recovery and Power-Generation Boilers.

San Miguel Electric Cooperative, Jourdanton, TX – Conducted a heat rate improvement training needs analysis for a 430 MW Lignite Power Boiler. Scope of work included operator job task identification, heat rate curriculum design, and recommended plan for Heat Rate improvement training.

Elf Atochem, Beaumont, TX – Conducted a training needs analysis for Methyl & Ethyl Mercaptan and H2S Process Units, including a 2-Unit Powerhouse, which included identifying operator job tasks, developing the training curriculum design, and the recommended plan for training and procedure development to comply with ISO-9000 certification and OSHA 1910.119.
